False Priest releases video for their latest single. Debut album out later this year
Keep an eye on Bay area indie rockers False Priest. Their first single, “Let Me Be Your Mother” is out now. In addition, they released an accentuating video putting the listener on a new level.
The visual work for “Let Me Be Your Mother” is a transcendental journey. Directed by Sarah Maloney, she has done video work with bands like Wierdboy, True Leaf Art, the Hotelier, and Ex Reyes. Part underwater footage and part socialogical voyeurism, movement is considered art. The pool is a metaphor between the living world and the underworld. Overall, the video presents a demonstration of life. The viewer is as much a part of the party as they are looking in from the outside.
It correlates with the thematic of the song being death and responsibility. Primal in its sonic foundation, the song pushes rock dynamics that give nods to a thoughtful guitar rock palette. Look for an album due out later this year.
