Michael Nau – Light That Ever

Michael Nau releases “Light That Ever,” the forthcoming album Some Twist, and an upcoming performance at Square Cat Vinyl in Indianapolis May 12

Michael Nau has made public his latest single, “Light That Ever.” It’s a follow up to “Good Thing” as it gives us a further sneak into his forthcoming album, Some Twist, out June 16 on Suicide Squeeze (US) and Full Time Hobby (UK & Europe). He will be making an appearance for Indy’s May First Friday, May 12, at Square Cat Vinyl.

It’s last call and the jukebox has enough energy for one more song. If you can imagine that post drunken slow dance while the cigarette burns out, leaving a trail of smoke for effect. You try hard to keep the sway moving in time, but at this point, all you can focus on is the song echoing through the bar. If you could hold on any tighter to each other you would. Like this song, you don’t want the night to end. The smell of bourbon and perfume permeate the senses. The human touch. Nothing else matters. “Light Than Ever” is that song.

It’s an homage to the great vocal soothers that knows what the night can do. Nau have found that niche in himself that is liberating and enjoyable to where you can just sit back and let his music consume you. He is that kind of folk hero.
