50 Years and The Vogue in Indianapolis Plays Host to the Most Interesting Celebration of Cream’s Legacy on November 3

Cream on Selective Memory

We are saturated with live tribute bands. From Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours to Led Zeppelin’s Zoso, there are hundreds of groups out there trying to provide the best homage they can to the artists they are most devoted to. The Doors, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Tom Petty, you name it, you will find a billing for it.

Yet the most interesting tribute band to come out the annals of classic rock history is embedded in the Cream 50th Anniversary World Tour. Heading to The Vogue on November 3, fans will get to experience the best Cream had to offer. This will be the best chance we will get to experience their psychedelic greatness.

Back in 2017, Ginger Baker’s son Kofi Baker, Jack Bruce’s son Malcom Bruce and Eric Clapton’s nephew by marriage Will Johns came together to reenact the legacy that Cream made on late ‘60s/early ‘70s rock. They started with a successful tour across Australia and New Zealand and now crossing the states on a major North American tour.

To accentuate the Cream experience, this show will be a multimedia event. You not only get to experience Baker, Bruce, and Johns perform classic versions of “Sunshine of Your Love,” “Crossroads,” “Spoonful” and “White Room,” they will interplay with footage of their fathers and mentors on the big screen. Add in personal stories and never-before-seen footage and photos, it will be a rock and roll night to remember.

Standing in a concert venue just a few degrees away from the original members of Cream is a once in a lifetime experience. And seeing these songs come to life in the most respectable of ways is the icing on the cake.

There have been special guests show up in the past and Baker says there will be surprises on the North American tour. Whatever the three have up their sleeve, expect a celebration of one of the most mythical bands in rock.
